Dianne Swanlund
Board President
Dianne Swanlund has lived in Surrey, BC for over 40 years with her husband Dan. She has two adult children and two grandchildren. Dianne recently retired from a major Canadian bank where she worked as an Associate Advisor in Estate and Insurance Advisory Services.
With over 15 years experience in the financial services sector, and more years in senior administrative positions, Dianne still committed significant time volunteering in her community. She has served as Director and Board Secretary for Surrey Urban Mission Society, board member of two churches in Surrey, an organizing member of a local food security initiative “Harvest Box,” and a steering committee member for her community’s Neighbourlink program. She has actively volunteered in multiple initiatives at local high school and elementary schools.
Dianne was introduced to One Plane Away in 2019 through the Northern Beginnings group, a Facebook group of people from across Canada who support One Plane Away. You will often find Dianne in her sewing studio where she enjoys quilting, bag making and sewing clothing for Nunavut babies.
