Partners

At One Plane Away, we are proud to partner with individuals, businesses and community groups across the country who share our commitment to supporting Nunavut mothers and babies.

Our partners include volunteers, community organizations and many personal and other donors. They all play an important role in helping us address the needs of Nunavut communities.

Volunteers help with everything from fundraising to event planning to collecting and delivering baby items. Community organizations partner with us to expand our reach and connect us with the communities we serve. Donors provide the financial support we need to make our work possible.

If you are interested in becoming a partner, we would love to hear from you! Whether you are an individual looking to volunteer your time, a community organization, or a foundation seeking to make an impact, there are many ways to get involved. We look forward to working with you to support mothers and babies in Nunavut communities.

About Our Partners

One Plane Away would like to acknowledge the Government of Nunavut Department of Health, through its Community Wellness Programs of the Population Health division, for providing us a $10,000 grant for our Improving Access to Baby Necessities for Inuit Babies program. This one-time grant provides community-based, non-profit organizations and municipal corporations the opportunity to promote the health and wellbeing of Nunavummiut, cultural and traditional programs, and capacity building. It will allow us to offer this community-led health and wellness programming initiative in Iqaluit.

We would also like to acknowledge the Department of Health, Health Promotion Program for providing a $10,000 grant for our Project, Promoting and Improving Equity for Nunavut Moms. This one-time grant offers community-based, non-profit organizations, and municipal corporations the opportunity to promote the health and wellbeing of Nunavummiut. It will allow us to help provide women and children with necessary items to thrive in their communities throughout Nunavut and provide health promotion materials on early childhood development and maternal health.

Finally, One Plane Away wishes to acknowledge the Government of Nunavut Department of Culture and Heritage for supporting our project, Promoting Inuktitut for Nunavut Babies / Improving Access in Inuktitut Language. This funding will allow us to to purchase books in Inuktitut to include in our baby care boxes and funds to support us with translation of our website and other promotional materials.

The Nunastar Fund for Northern Children and Astro Hill generously support One Plane Away by providing us with space for our Iqaluit location. Here, our dedicated volunteers spend hours sorting through all the donations we receive from people and organizations all over the country and beyond and prepare our baby care packages to send out.

One Plane Away is grateful for the support it receives through The Inuit Child First Initiative. This funding makes it possible to send baby care packages throughout Nunavut’s 25 communities.

One Plane Away is pleased to be the sponsoring organization of the Investing in the Futures of Inuit Women Arctic Inspiration Youth Prize. The Arctic Inspiration Youth Prize funds and supports youth who bring positive change to the North.

Thank you to the Canada Post Community Foundation for supporting One Plane Away with funds for our Baby Care Box contents and shipping costs.

We thank the True North Aid Foundation for partnering with us to financially support large shipments of baby supplies to Iqaluit.

One Plane Away wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Pinnguaq for the recent donation of two laptops for our Arctic Youth Team.

One Plane Away extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Nunavut Bilingual Education Society (NBES) for their recent donation of 100 books to include in our baby care boxes.
