Frequently Asked Questions

Where will my donation go?

Clothing donations and other baby supplies are shipped to mothers and babies in Nunavut communities. Recipients are selected randomly through a draw of applicant names each month. The number of requests we receive each month for a package is considerably more than we are able to send.

We have also provided baby care packages on request to moms staying at the Medical Boarding Home when in Iqaluit to have their baby or for other medical treatment.

If you have made a monetary donation, it will support the cost of purchasing baby items that we do not have in stock. Most of the items we include in the packages are donated.

How do I request a Baby Care Box?

If you live in Nunavut and are a mother or guardian of a baby or expecting a baby, you can apply for a care box of baby items. Visit our Request a Baby Care Box page to learn more. Note that there is a limit of one care box per child.

How can I get involved?

One Plane Away is a growing organization and we are always looking for volunteers to help with packing care boxes, fundraising, raising awareness of our work, and more. We are also currently seeking members to join various committees for our Board of Directors! If you’re interested in getting involved, please contact us - we’d love to hear from you.
