Louisdale, Nova Scotia — On June 19, One Plane Away Executive Director Celeste Gotell accepted a cheque from the St. Louis Catholic Women’s League as she joined them to pack boxes of donated baby items.

This was the second load of donations prepared by the Richmond County, Cape Breton based group; in the coming weeks over 40 boxes will make their way from Louisdale to Iqaluit. From there, the One Plane Away team will pack the items into Baby Care Boxes which will be delivered to mothers across Nunavut.

“A heartfelt thanks to all who were able to pack boxes today,” the organization said in a Facebook post. “Words cannot express our deep gratitude to all involved in this venture. We will continue to support this organization throughout the year ahead.”

The monetary donation, which came from several local parishes and individuals, will help One Plane Away purchase essential supplies to include in the care boxes.
